Briefing newsmen, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, said the suspects
were caught loading stolen concrete caves belonging to the Bauchi State Government onto a truck.

Wakil said that the suspects were arrested by a team led by the command’s eorks department chief, David Silas in collaboration with the Bauchi State Ministry of Works.

Preliminary investigations, the command said, revealed that Ibrahim, the primary suspect, claimed to have purchased the stolen concrete caves for ₦350 each from unidentified individuals near Emir’s Drive in Bauchi.

“He used his truck to transport the stolen items to his residence. The police have recovered the truck and the stolen property as evidence and are actively pursuing other suspects linked to the crime,” Wakil added.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Auwal Mohammed, has reiterated the command’s zero-tolerance for vandalism, assuring residents that a thorough investigation into the crime is underway.

He emphasized that all culprits will face justice and called on the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

The arrest of the two suspects, the police boss stated, underscores the Bauchi State Police Command’s commitment to safeguarding public assets and maintaining law and order.
