The police has announced the arrest of two more suspects involved in the abduction of the wife of a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this development in a statement released on Friday in Abuja.
ACP Adejobi identified the two suspects as Agbojule Smart (27) and Keleke Michael (30).
It would be recalled that Mrs. Odumosu was abducted on January 9, 2025, at the entrance of her residence in Arepo, Owode Local Government Area of Ogun state
However, ACP Adejobi on his official X handle on Thursday morning confirmed her release, stating that the abductors of Mrs. Odumosu were killed, and the ransom used as bait to attract the kidnappers was recovered from the culprits.
In Friday’s statement, the police revealed that the two suspects were arrested in the early hours of January 24, 2025, while on their way out of Lagos State.

It added that upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to the kidnapping of Mrs. Odumosu and of belonging to a gang of four, two of whom had been neutralized when the victim was rescued on Wednesday.
“Recovered from the suspects upon their arrest were the sum of N2. 25 million, which was part of the requested ransom, two locally fabricated rifles, and 11 live cartridges,” the statement said.
The force spokesman said the inspector general of police commended the police operatives that arrested the fleeing suspects for their gallantry, and encouraged them to maintain this high standard of competence in the fight against crime in all its manifestations.
He reiterated the commitment of the police to public safety and the security of all Nigerians, as the police remains steadfast in its commitment to reducing crime and foster peace across the nation.
