The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Johnson Adenola, has announced strict security measures to ensure a smooth transition process following the death of the Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
In a statement made on Tuesday in Ibadan, Adenola explained that comprehensive security measures have been implemented to guarantee safety during this transition.
He said the measures include deploying police officers and resources around the Olubadan’s palace and increasing police presence in the area.
The police boss indicated that police officers will conduct active patrols in convoys, alongside other security agencies, and carry out thorough surveillance.
Additionally, he said, intelligence-led operations have begun, which include checking vehicles and individuals throughout the city and its surroundings.

Adenola encouraged Ibadan residents to adhere to the law and continue their daily lives without fear.
He urged parents and community leaders to guide the younger generation to avoid actions that could disrupt public order, warning that those who break the law would face serious consequences.
He also extended his heartfelt condolences to the Olubadan-in-Council and the people of Oyo State for the loss of Oba Olakulehin, who passed away at the age of 90.
