The management of Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation (DPPC), publishers of The Pointer Newspaper, has applauded media entrepreneur and veteran journalist, Asiwaju Sola Adebayo, for donating ₦7.5 million to support the medical care of a staff member, Mr. Awele Ogbogu, who is currently battling a health challenge.
The DPPC described the gesture as timely and lifesaving, noting that it boosted earlier contributions raised by members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Pointer Chapel, who had mobilised funds to begin Ogbogu’s treatment.
General Manager of DPPC, Mrs. Rosemary Nwaebuni, hailed Adebayo for his unwavering humanitarian disposition, saying his consistent interventions within the media community continue to exemplify true leadership and compassion.

According to her, “What Asiwaju Adebayo has done goes beyond generosity, it is transformative. We had given what we could from our limited income, but his intervention has greatly strengthened the chances of our colleague. His kindness to journalists, especially in moments of health crises, is deeply appreciated. We pray to God to bless and uplift him.”
She also extended appreciation to individuals and groups who contributed, including the Delta State Director of Statistics, Mrs. Nkechi Maduemezia, and FRCN’s Mr. Sam Erhunmwesee, stressing that the organisation remains committed to supporting its workforce in difficult times.
Chairman of NUJ, Pointer Chapel, Comrade Godwin Nzemeke, also expressed the chapel’s gratitude, describing Adebayo’s support as overwhelming and a reflection of genuine love for the journalism profession.
On his part, the beneficiary, Mr. Awele Ogbogu, thanked Adebayo for the intervention, praying for his continued prosperity and ability to uplift more lives.
