World Cup-winning star Paul Pogba has been in the nest of the purported blackmail by a clique of his childhood friends including Mathias Pogba, his elder brother.

The former Manchester United midfielder was a victim to these blackmailers that accosted and threatened him with arms-wielding masked men, who dragged him into an apartment during his visit to where he grew up to demand €13m.

Mathias, who has also been a footballer playing in lower leagues across Europe, posted a video on social media where he announced he will be revealing some confidential information about Pogba.

According to Pogba’s elder brother’s “big revelation”, issues surrounding the relationship between the Juventus midfielder and Rafaela Pimenta, a lady who is his business associate, will be divulged to the public.

He stated that after he finishes revealing the kind of stuff the brother has under his sleeves,  it will be left for the fans to decide if the France international deserves the accolade and recognition he is being accorded.

Mathias said, “I’m announcing that I’ll soon be making big revelations about my brother, Paul Pogba, his lawyer, his friend and his confidante Rafaela Pimenta, who Paul calls his ‘second mother’ as if one wasn’t enough.

“For those who don’t know me, I’m a professional footballer and the big brother of world champion Paul, who has joined Juventus after a disappointing spell at Manchester United.

“I’m making this video today because I think that the French, Spanish, English, and Italian people, as well as fans of my brother, Juventus, the French national team, his teammates and his sponsors, deserve to know certain things so they can decide in full knowledge of the facts whether he really deserves the respect, admiration, and love of the public.

“If he deserves his place in the French squad, if he deserves to play in the World Cup, if he deserves to start for Juventus, if he is a person worthy of our confidence and whether he is worthy of being a role model for the youth,” Mathias added.

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba’s lawyers in a statement condemned the act of blackmail, adding that Mathias and his gang are on a mission to extort money from their client.

According to them, the issue which is presently being investigated did not come as a surprise when Pogba’s elder brother took to his social media to make unguided utterances.

The statement read in part: “Mathias Pogba’s recent statements on social media are unfortunately no surprise.

“They are in addition to threats and group-organised extortion attempts against Paul Pogba.

“The competent bodies in Italy and France were briefed a month ago and there will be no further comments in relation to the ongoing investigation,” it stated.

Paul Pogba returned to Juventus this summer from Manchester United after struggling to replicate the same form that made the English club splash a record fee of €105m on him while in Juventus.
