The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned preventive maintenance operation at its Ihovbor 132/33kV Transmission Substation, slated for Thursday, November 21, 2024.
According to a press release signed by Ndidi Mbah, General Manager of TCN, the maintenance work will involve critical repairs, reactivation, and the restoration of six switch gear units to enhance the efficiency of the substation.
As a result of this maintenance exercise, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) will temporarily halt electricity distribution to customers connected to the Ihovbor and UNIBEN 33kV feeders.

The power outage is expected to last for the duration of the repairs, but TCN has assured residents that electricity supply will resume immediately after the maintenance is complete.
The preventive maintenance is part of TCN’s ongoing efforts to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply across its network. The company expressed its commitment to minimizing disruptions and enhancing service delivery.
Affected residents and businesses in the Ihovbor and UNIBEN areas are advised to make alternative power arrangements during the outage period.
