The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has stated its readiness to organise a posthumous thanksgiving celebration in honour of Late Rev Uma Ukpai at its 40th anniversary slated to commence from 19th of October, 2025.
Addressing a press conference in Uyo , the National President of the group, Bishop Francis Wale Oke said that the 36 states and Abuja, will hold a thanksgiving service and an award service to celebrate the late Icon who played a prominent role in the formation of the group.
The president who was represented by Bishop David Bakare who is PFN Secretary, disclosed that the late Clergy man was chosen as the sole speaker for the anniversary, adding that now that he is no more, the organisation will go ahead with the plan to celebrate him.

In his words,” We expected that he would be the main preacher at the 40th anniversary celebration, and now that he’s not here, we decided that we are going to make that 40th year anniversary a celebration of all Baba’s good work while he was with us.”
“So, on the 19th, being Sunday of this month, all the 36 States of the Federation plus the FCT will hold a thanksgiving service and an award service to celebrate all icons who have been of great blessings to PFN. And of course, in all the 36 States plus FCT, Baba will be celebrated.”
“And if you are part of that service, you will see what we’re going to do. We are going to celebrate, we’re going to rejoice, we’re going to give thanks to the Lord for giving us such a great Icon that we can never forget.
“So we are going to use that first level of celebration, which is the state thanksgiving service for the 40th anniversary, to celebrate him.”
He disclosed that they have visited the deceased’s wife to commiserate and pray with her over the demise of the late God’s Evangelist.
He said “the National President is unavoidably absent because he’s out of the country, and he had asked me to lead a team of these eminent men to come here to visit Mama, commiserate with family officially.”
