Plateau State Governor Caleb Muftwang has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to peace and security as the cornerstone of his agenda for 2025. In his New Year address to the people, the governor emphasized that significant strides have been made to combat attacks and ensure the safety of citizens across the state.

“We’ve made significant investments in technology and logistics, leading to a noticeable decline in attacks. While challenges persist, we remain unwavering in our commitment to achieving lasting peace. Our focus also extends to combating child trafficking and ensuring the safety of every child in Plateau State,” he stated.

Governor Muftwang acknowledged the economic hardships brought about by the removal of fuel subsidies and outlined key measures to alleviate the burden on residents. Among these is the introduction of modern buses to improve the state’s transportation system, providing affordable and efficient travel options for the masses.

“Our agriculture sector has witnessed transformative changes through new partnerships and investments. These include the development of an agro-processing zone and an innovative online system for farmers to access resources more efficiently. Additionally, the ongoing upgrade of Yakubu Gowon Airport will enhance export capabilities and boost the local economy,” he noted.

The governor also highlighted efforts to improve basic infrastructure and services. These include expanding access to clean water, enhancing sanitation facilities, and increasing power and energy access across Plateau State.

“Our administration is focused on ensuring that every resident has access to essential services. These initiatives are critical to building a resilient and prosperous Plateau State,” he added.

Governor Muftwang described the state’s 2025 budget as a “Budget of Consolidation and Sustainability.” He explained that it builds on the successes of 2024, with a focus on sustainable development, technological innovation, and youth empowerment.

“We are strengthening our traditional institutions and promoting unity among our people. By fostering collaboration and inclusivity, we can achieve our shared vision for a better Plateau State,” he said.

Governor Muftwang’s message resonated with optimism and determination, as he called on residents to support his administration’s efforts. “Together, we can overcome our challenges and create a future where peace, security, and progress define Plateau State,” he concluded.
