Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South East have affirmed their support for the National Secretary of the party, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu
The stakeholders rejected the outcome of the meeting held at the Government House, Enugu, by the expelled PDP South East zonal National Vice Chairman, Chief Ali Odefa, describing the decisions reached at the said meeting as a nullity.
This was the outcome of a stakeholders meeting held in Abuja, on Tuesday and convened by the new South East zonal National Vice Chairman of the PDP, Chidiebere Egwu.
The meeting was attended by the leaders of the party in the South East, including the immediate past Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, Sen. Michael Nnachi, Sen. Paulinus Nwagu, Jones Onyeriri, the PDP Zonal Legal Adviser, Ukpai Ukairo, Zonal Organising Secretary, Mike Ahumibe, and the PDP chairmen of Imo and Abia States.
They reiterated their call for the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) to obey the Supreme Court ruling that explicitly reaffirmed the position of Sen. Anyanwu as the national secretary of the party.

The stakeholders in a communique issued at the end of the meeting, called on the PDP national leadership and the public to disregard the meeting held at the behest of the expelled former zonal National Vice Chairman, Odefa.
The stakeholders also reiterated their call for the immediate conduct of congresses in Ebonyi and Anambra States where no valid PDP State Working Committee exist at present.
The communique recalled several judgments that affirmed the suspension and subsequent expulsion of Odefa as the national vice chairman of the PDP in the South East and urged the zonal working committee to institute a contempt of court proceedings against the former zonal chairman.
Also, the stakeholders urged party members and leaders to support the Sen. Bukola Saraki led reconciliation committee to mediate on the lingering leadership crisis in the interest of the survival of the party.
