The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated the newly elected state executive committee of the party led by Chukwuma Igwe nad Henry Ngonu as the state chairman and state secretary, respectively.
Igwe was a member of Ebonyi of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
The new state executive committee members were elected at the state congress held at the PDP Secretariat, Km 8, Abakaliki/Enugu Expressway, Abakaliki on Friday.
The congress which witnessed a large turnout of party faithful was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), while the presence of security operatives ensured that the congress was peaceful without any incident.
Addressing party members, the Chairman of the seven-man congress committee, Ukpai Ukairo announced that the PDP adopted consensus in the election of the new leadership to reduce rancour, noting that the committee was impressed by the conduct of PDP members in Ebonyi State.

Ukairo enjoined the newly elected leadership of the party to work hard as the PDP is poised to bounce back to winning ways, especially as the 2027 general elections approach.
In his remarks at the inauguration of the new SWC, the South-East National Vice Chairman of the party, Chidiebere Egwu, while congratulating the new executive urged them to work with the leaders and stakeholders of the party to ensure that every member of the party is carried along in rebuilding the party.
Egwu also charged the new PDP executive to hit the ground running by ensuring that members of the party actively take part in the e-registration exercise in line with the new electoral guidelines as prescribed by the Electoral Act, 2025.
Members of the Ebonyi PDP SWC are Chief Chris Ngwuta (deputy chairman), Prince Kigsley Igwe (treasurer), Okohue Nkaa (legal adviser), Okoro Chukwudi Goodluck (organising secretary), and Nnanna Emea Oji (youth leader).
Others include, Mrs. Chinyere Nwele (women’s keader), Darlington Onwe (publicity secretary), Emmanuel Uka Abraham (financial secretary), Francis Alegu (auditor), Alhaji Idris Oken (vice chairman, central), Ugochukwu Obasi (vice chairman, south) and Mrs. Nwojiji Blessing Chinazum (vice chairman, north).
