Pastor Senior Gabriel Okpako Uyeh hosted a special thanksgiving service following his induction as the 6th Chairman of the Lagos, Western, and Northern Areas (LAWNA) Territory and Vice Chairman of The Apostolic Church Nigeria (TACN). The event, held at The Apostolic Church of Nigeria, Uzere District in Oleh Area, Delta State, drew a congregation of dignitaries, clergy, and well-wishers from across the country.
During his address at the service, Pastor Uyeh expressed profound humility and gratitude to God, acknowledging his spiritual journey. “I don’t like to show off; I am just like a worm, but I am grateful to God Almighty for what I am today,” he said. Reflecting on his calling, he emphasized, “I didn’t come for position or prophecy—I came to serve God Almighty.”
Pastor Uyeh shared the remarkable progression of his ministerial career, from serving as a free worker without salary to ascending the ranks as a pastor, sectional pastor, apostle, superintendent, and area superintendent. His elevation culminated in his induction as the 6th LAWNA chairman on December 3, 2023.

The service featured an inspiring sermon by Pastor I.I. Ibe, Superintendent of the Warri Area, who based his message on Psalm 89:1. Drawing parallels between Pastor Uyeh’s journey and King David’s biblical story, Pastor Ibe praised the steadfastness and patience required of ordained men of God, highlighting the importance of preparation and humility in leadership.
The Ovie of Emede Kingdom, HRM Johnson Egbo, Ewhiri II, also graced the occasion, lauding Pastor Uyeh’s achievements and his dedication to celebrating with his roots. “Anyone who forgets their roots does not know where they are going,” he remarked, invoking the biblical principle of bearing fruit to avoid being cut off.
Prince Sam Ogrih, in his vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to God and to all who attended the ceremony. The event showcased choir ministrations by various districts of The Apostolic Church Nigeria and the Uzere Christian Association Choir, adding a melodic touch to the atmosphere of praise and celebration.
The thanksgiving service also witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including Delta State Governor Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by Prince Johnson Erijo, Chief of Staff at the Government House in Asaba; Evangelist Solomon Ogba, former President of the Athletic Federation of Nigeria; and Elder Daniel Olokor. Other attendees included Chief Askia Ogieh, former Managing Director of DESOPADEC; HRM Isaac Udogri, Ovie of Uzere Kingdom; Engr. Goodluck Idele, former caretaker chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area; Prof. Ben Owhe from DELSU, and numerous TACN leaders and supporters.
