President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has earned commendation from the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) for ensuring the release of Rivers State’s statutory allocation.
The commendation came from PANDEF’s newly elected National Chairman, Ambassador Godknows Igali, during a media briefing over the weekend in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Ambassador Igali described the President’s action as a significant relief for the people of Rivers State, emphasizing that withholding the funds could have indirectly punished innocent citizens due to political disputes.
“The release of Rivers State’s allocation is a testament to President Tinubu’s commitment to fairness and governance,” Igali said.

The PANDEF chairman noted that the decision aligns with ongoing reconciliation efforts led by the High-Level Peace and Reconciliation Committee, chaired by Obong Victor Attah. The committee has been working to resolve tensions within Rivers State and across the Niger Delta region.
“This gesture by the Federal Government will undoubtedly complement efforts to foster unity and harmony in Rivers State and beyond,” Igali added.
Using the opportunity, Ambassador Igali urged political actors, community leaders, and youth and women’s groups in Rivers State to set aside their grievances for the sake of peace and development. He emphasized that sustainable progress in the Niger Delta requires collective effort and cooperation among all stakeholders.
