The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 49-year-old Peter Adubi in connection with the alleged defilement of a 13-year-old girl.
Police spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade said the arrest followed a report filed by the minor’s guardian on January 8, 2026, at 8:50 p.m. in Ibadan.
The investigators said, the girl disclosed she was sexually abused in 2022 while living with her mother in the Molade area of Ibadan. A medical examination conducted after the report confirmed evidence of sexual abuse, strengthening the case against the suspect.

Adubi was taken into custody, and the crime scene visited. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Gender Desk, for discreet investigation.
Police urged residents to remain vigilant and report incidents of sexual abuse promptly, stressing community cooperation is vital to safeguarding children.
