Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has promoted/upgraded 5,010 officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) across board.
NSCDC’s Director, Public Relations, DCC Olusola Odumosu, who disclosed this during the weekend in a statement, said the promotion is part of efforts to improve the welfare and conditions of service for officers and men of the Corps.
According to Odumosu, “The promotion list comprises of personnel from the rank of Inspector of Corps II to Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC), including officers upgraded/converted with effect from 01/01/2020 and 01/01/2021 respectively.”
He further disclosed that from the approved list of promotion, a total of 116 Assistant Commandants of Corps (ACC) got promoted to the rank of Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC), 362 Chief Superintendents of Corps (CSC) were promoted to the rank of Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC).
“Also promoted are 399 Superintendents of Corps (SC) to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC) and 550 Deputy Superintendents of Corps (DSC) to the rank of Superintendent of Corps.
“Another 888 Assistant Superintendents of Corps I (ASC I) are now Deputy Superintendents of Corps (DSC), 1191 Assistant Superintendents of Corps II (ASC II) got promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Corps (I) while 988 Inspectors of Corps II (IC II) were also promoted to Assistant Superintendents of Corps II (ASC II),” he added.
He said a total of 516 personnel got upgraded/converted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASC II).
Meanwhile, the Corps helmsman, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi said the promotion of officers and men of the Corps is part of his administration’s drive to encourage hard work, promote the culture of merit and award excellence.
“As the man occupying the drivers seat, i have resolved to ensure that deserving personnel, most especially dedicated ones are promoted accordingly, to increase their level of productivity.
“From a total of 5010 upgraded personnel, 4494 were promoted while 516 got upgraded by conversion” he explained.
The Commandant General charged the newly promoted officers to justify their promotion by contributing to the growth of the Corps through hard work, renewed zeal, vigour, loyalty to service and patriotism to the nation.
While appreciating the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who also doubles as the chairman of the CDCFIB, for his unwavering support to the NSCDC, Dr Audi assured that the Corps under his watch will continue to deliver on its mandate in the interest of peace and progress of the country.
