Otuaro applauds Delta students’ victory at Qatar debate championship

Former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Kingsley Otuaro, has applaud the remarkable feat achieved by students from the state, at the prestigious World Schools Debate Championship held in Doha, Qatar.

Otuaro described the victory as a shining testament to the transformative power of education.

“This is not just a win for Delta State; it is a resounding statement that quality education shapes confident and articulate leaders of tomorrow,” he said.

He commended the students, Wisdom Chukwuma, Otorvo Uyoyou, Abraham Honour, Ekhamateh Splendour, and Alika Daniel, emerged champions at the global debate contest, after conquering teams from the United States and the host country Qatar, sealing the title with a 5–1 aggregate score.

Otuaro also applauded the efforts of the teachers and families whose steadfast support nurtured the students’ skills, noting that such successes flourish in an environment where education is truly valued.

The ex-deputy governor also extended warm commendation to the government of Delta State and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, acknowledging that such success is only possible in an environment where education is genuinely prioritized.

He noted that the Oborevwori administration’s continued commitment to supporting schools, teachers, and students has helped lay the groundwork for achievements like this, calling it proof of what can happen when leaders place learning at the forefront of development
