Popular award-winning Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and cousin Bamidele Adeleke have traded words over the ambition of the latter to contest with his uncle for the forthcoming Osun 2022 governorship election.

Davido in an earlier tweet on his Twitter handle, chastise his cousin who he said claims to be intellectually sound but parades a second class lower university degree certificate he struggled to acquire.

Reacting to the artist tweet, Bamidele Adekele said he won’t allow anybody to denigrate his mother despite losing her at a tender age like Davido, as well as not saying anything against his cherished aunty Vero.

He tweeted, “I respect your decision and choice to support uncle Damola and that is the beauty of democracy. It is possible we can all make our individual choice without rancour and bitterness. We can all follow different paths and still live as one big happy family.”

However, he tweeted that the decision lies with the people of Osun state to vote for the best man.

Reacting to the tweets, Davido affirmed that Dele Adeleke passed his boundary for including his mother’s death in his writeup saying, his mummy fed and clothed him.

“I promise to expose your ungrateful betraying ass to the whole of Osun,” he wrote.

“The truth hurt you that much you had to go that low to mention your aunty Vero that cared for you.”

Davido added that he won’t succumb to a disrespect to his father and mummy, adding that his cousin has the audacity to be tweeting from the house his father gifted him.

“Because of your ambition you have your people wrote about me (Well I don’t care) but to have involved the death of my mother in an article….same woman that raised you…@deleadeleke001. Dele God will reward you.”

On Tuesday, Davido tweeted, “Wonderful. “Me I finished uni with 2:1 but cousin Dele who struggled to even get a 2:2 is now forming intellectual”.

“Intellectual that has not succeeded in building one single thing in his life on his own. This life ehn! Osun beware of Fakes! @deleadeke001.”

Reacting to the tweet, Ademola Adeleke said, “don’t worry nephew God got us. #IMOLEDE #OSUN2022.”

Two members of the family, Ademola Adeleke, a former senator and PDP flag bearer in the 2018 governorship election in the state and his nephew, Dele Adeleke, were recently cleared by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest its governorship primaries holding later this month.

The ambitions of the two Adelekes who were cleared alongside four other aspirants have divided the family.

Dele in a recent interview with Channels Television has disclosed that he was contesting against his uncle because he is more competent than him (Ademola).
