A major leadership conference themed “Better Leadership for a Better Nigeria” will be held in Abuja on Tuesday, bringing together some of the nation’s most respected political, business, and thought leaders.
Organized by the Oxford Global Think Tank (OGTT), the event forms part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary. It aims to promote discussions around effective, inclusive, and transformational leadership needed to move the country forward.
Former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, are among the prominent figures expected to speak at the conference, which will take place at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, on October 28.
According to the Conference Programme Manager, Mr. Williams Eze, the gathering will serve as a platform to develop new strategies for governance, economic reform, and generational transition in leadership.
Other high-profile attendees include Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, and veteran businessman Atedo Peterside. Former Senate Presidents Bukola Saraki and Anyim Pius Anyim, as well as former Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi, are also expected to participate.

The conference will address four key focus areas: Public Policy and Inclusive Governance, Economic Transformation through Business Leadership, Technology and Entrepreneurship, and Intergenerational Transition.
OGTT will also unveil significant new research reports at the event, including “RAMP Africa: Reforming African Minerals to Prosper Africa.” In addition, OGTT Founder Arunma Oteh will present her new book, “All Hands-on Deck: Unleash Prosperity through World-Class Capital Markets.”
To complement the discussions, an art exhibition will run alongside the conference, featuring visual and audio installations that explore leadership and national identity.
The event is expected to draw government officials, CEOs, development partners, and young innovators from across Nigeria, offering a rare opportunity for cross-sector dialogue on shaping a stronger and more accountable future for the nation.
