Galatasaray’s star forward Victor Osimhen will be out for at least two more weeks as he recovers from an ankle injury he sustained while playing for Nigeria.
The injury occurred during a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda and has already caused the 26-year-old to miss two important matches for his club.
Initially, the injury seemed minor since he was able to leave the field on his own. However, it has turned out to be more serious than initially believed.

After departing from the Nigerian national team camp to receive treatment at Galatasaray, Osimhen missed a Super Lig match against Eyupspor and was also absent during the team’s heavy 5-1 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League.
According to Turkish-Football, Osimhen is expected to miss two additional games, including upcoming Super Lig matches against Konyaspor and Alanyaspor.
His absence will challenge Galatasaray’s squad depth, although the club is still anticipated to perform well in their next two domestic fixtures.
Nonetheless, Osimhen’s return is deemed crucial for their upcoming Champions League match.
Reports suggest he may be back in action on September 30, when Galatasaray faces Liverpool in their second group-stage game.
His presence will be vital for the team’s chances of achieving a positive result against the Premier League leaders.
