Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has donated N5 million to support the breast cancer treatment of popular Twitter food vendor and online personality Aunty Esther, known offline as Esther Omolola Mensah. The contribution followed the circulation of a distressing video in which she appealed for urgent medical help from her hospital bed, prompting widespread concern across social media.

Esther became known on Twitter for her reliable shopping and delivery services and for the warmth she brought to her interactions. Her sudden disappearance from the platform led many followers to worry, and it later emerged that she had been battling an aggressive form of cancer. Friends and volunteers moved her to a hospital where tests revealed she needed extensive treatment that carried a heavy financial burden.
A verified account was created to raise funds, and thousands of Nigerians contributed whatever they could. Osimhen’s N5 million donation, made on Wednesday, stands as the largest individual contribution so far. The gesture drew an emotional response from Esther, who thanked him publicly and prayed for blessings upon him.
The striker’s act of generosity comes at a trying moment in his own career. He picked up an injury during Galatasaray’s 1–0 Champions League defeat to Union Saint-Gilloise on Tuesday night. The club expects him to regain full fitness ahead of the crucial derby against Fenerbahçe on December 1.
