Former Governor of Edo State, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, caused a stir at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Terminal 1 in Lagos on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred after he missed his flight to Abuja due to lateness.
According to a statement from the airline involved, Air Peace, Sen. Oshiomhole arrived at the airport around 6:10 am, just 20 minutes before his flight was scheduled to leave.
By the time he got there, the boarding process had already closed, and the plane took off as planned. This prompted Sen. Oshiomhole to cause a scene at the airport.
Reports indicate that Sen. Oshiomhole became furious and allegedly assaulted the airline’s staff, even blocking the terminal’s entrance and preventing other passengers from entering.
Air Peace expressed strong disapproval of his behaviour, emphasising their zero-tolerance policy towards violence or any aggressive actions against their employees or customers.
The airline stated that “Air Peace condemns the unruly behaviour of the politician who disrupted airport operations on Wednesday morning.

“When informed he had missed his flight, he reacted violently, attacking our staff and blocking access to the terminal. This unacceptable behaviour affected many travelers trying to catch their flights.”
To manage the situation, Air Peace said it quickly set up a back-up plan to help affected passengers use a different terminal, ensuring they could continue their journeys.
Air Peace expressed disappointment that someone in such a high position would behave in such a disruptive manner.
The airline reiterated the importance of cooperation and respect at the airport, reminding everyone that safety and timely operations are priorities.
The airline emphasised that no one, regardless of their status, is above basic standards of respect and conduct.
