Orodata Science, in partnership with Africa Data Hub (ADH), is advancing its ambitious project to transform healthcare in Nigeria by expanding data collection efforts across the nation’s Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs). The initiative, aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery, will now cover over 1,500 PHCs, marking a significant milestone in the country’s healthcare system.
According to a statement released in Taraba State by Uche Oti, Program Officer for Orodata Science, this new phase will bring an additional 1,000 PHCs under the project’s scope. The expansion includes PHCs in Ogun, Edo, the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja), Kwara, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Abia, Kano, Kaduna, and Gombe. This effort builds on the project’s earlier success in states such as Anambra, Benue, Cross River, Osun, Sokoto, and Taraba, where critical insights into healthcare challenges were uncovered.
Oti explained that the primary aim of the project is to evaluate the availability and quality of services provided by PHCs, assess the state of infrastructure and facility conditions, and identify gaps in resources and service delivery.
He further emphasized that the insights generated will empower policymakers and stakeholders with actionable data to improve healthcare services and ensure equitable access across the country.

Speaking on the importance of the project, Oti reiterated that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental human right. He expressed confidence that the initiative would not only guide policy decisions but also equip Nigerians with valuable information to hold the healthcare system accountable.
The data gathered will form the basis for detailed reports and interactive visualizations to support advocacy efforts aimed at strengthening health systems.
Additionally, a newly launched platform, CheckMyPHC.org, will make this information publicly accessible, offering Nigerians real-time updates on the status of PHCs in their communities.
According to Oti, this expansion signifies Orodata Science and ADH’s unwavering commitment to revolutionizing healthcare delivery through innovative data solutions. By leveraging technology and evidence-based approaches, the project aims to bridge critical gaps in Nigeria’s healthcare system and empower citizens with the tools to advocate for improved services.
