The Delta State government has taken significant action regarding a recent incident at the School of Nursing Agbor, where a student was issued a letter of query for sharing a video that featured her colleagues singing a contentious welcome song for the first Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu.
The video gained traction on social media, prompting a widespread campaign among Nigerians advocating for the school to retract the query issued to the student.
In light of the growing public concern, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, addressed the issue in a video statement released this morning.

He confirmed that he had intervened directly with the school authorities, instructing them to rescind the letter of quaery.
Onojaeme stressed the importance of not victimizing students for expressing themselves and adding that he had spoken with the student involved, who informed him that the letter had been officially withdrawn late the previous night.
‘’The letter of query issued to the student of the School of Nursing Agbor. I have instructed the provost to withdraw the letter. We do not want to victimize any of the students. I have also reached out to the student in question and she has confirmed to me that the letter was withdrawn late yesterday night” he said.
This decision reflects a commitment to uphold students’ rights to free expression while navigating the complexities of social media and public sentiment.
