The recent arrest of former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ignited a storm of reactions across Nigeria’s political landscape. In a statement issued by the public relations officer of the party, he applauded EFCC for the bold step, stressing its the right step towards recovery of the Delta stolen fund.

In contrast, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) condemned Okowa’s arrest, suggesting it could be a politically motivated move aimed at weakening the PDP’s influence in Delta State.
