Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has met with Pope Francis at the Vatican to update him on the work of the committee on the Zeyed Award for Human Fraternity.
The award for humanitarian service originated from the pope’s concern over the hundreds of millions of children going hungry, whilst billions of dollars are spent on wars, to signal hope particularly to encourage young people.
The award seeks to pull up those who fight for causes to serve others and bring hope to a troubled world.
Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Ahmed Al Tayeb signed the accord that originated the important humanitarian award.
