Apex lgbo Socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, has concluded plans to hold Easter Retreat.
Ohanaeze said amidst the myriad economic challenges and escalating insecurity threatening Igbo-speaking states necessitated the event.
With the theme “‘NWALITE, IWULITE NA IDI NOTU ALAIGBO’ is aimed towards Building a New Igbo Nation), stands poised to unfold in Asaba, Delta State from March 30 to April 2, 2024.
In a statement signed and issued on Sunday by Dr Saint Chukwuola Dike, Chairmen National Planning Committee, said the landmark gathering seeks to chart a new course for a revitalized Igbo identity, marking a pivotal moment in our collective history.
According to the statement, the core objective of this gathering is to forge immediate solutions towards the establishment of a ‘NEW IGBO NATION’, crafted through a synergy of enlightenment initiatives and the united efforts of all Igbo individuals, both within our homeland and across the diaspora.

“Central to our focus are themes of industrialization, resource development, the innovative ‘IGBO LIGHTS PROJECTS’, and the resounding call to action for ‘THINK HOME INVESTMENTS’ campaigns.
“With a profound emphasis on preserving and promoting the rich Igbo language and cultural heritage, the retreat will deliberate on pressing matters such as advocating for state police, advocating for restructuring, and the strategic planning for the election of a President General in 2025 from Rivers State.
Distinguished keynote speakers, including Professor Nwokojie Ambrose(Cornell University Texas USA), Professor Thomas Ella(Yale University USA), and Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro( Secretary General Ohanaeze Ndigbo)
It stated that the event is to be aided by the esteemed Chairmanship of Rt Hon. Peter Uzoanya and Professor Chukwuemeka Ananamba.
The three-day event will also host illustrious guests, including Igbo Governors, Governors of Delta and Rivers States, and the esteemed presence of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President and Commander in Chief, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
