“The nefarious ploys aimed at undermining these transformative initiatives must be exposed and thwarted for the collective good of Nigerians.

The Igbo body called on all stakeholders to uphold integrity and transparency in the execution of public projects, echoing the need for durable infrastructure that reflects the highest standards.

“We demand a departure from the era of substandard roads constructed by unscrupulous contractors, urging the Federal government to enlist competent indigenous contractors for the construction of these critical highways.

The organisation stated that the appointment of a dedicated and forward-thinking technocrat by President Bola Tinubu as Minister of Works, signifies a notable shift towards innovative technology in road construction, disrupting the hegemony of corrupt practices.

According to Ohanaeze, the introduction of Cement technology over conventional asphalt methods signals a commitment to efficiency and longevity in infrastructure projects.

“Despite facing attacks from faceless entities and vested interests, the Federal Executive Council’s endorsement of a ₦1.067 trillion contract for the initial phase of the coastal route construction calls for celebration among Nigerians.

Ohanaeze urged detractors to cease their attempts at derailing this vital project and instead join hands in supporting initiatives that promise prosperity for all Nigerians.

Adding that the construction of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway represents a significant milestone towards national development and solidarity is key to its successful implementation.
