Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has declared that his administration will work hard to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the state.
He also pledged to revive the Ogun State through its counterpart funding with the Bank of Industry (BoI) to enable the state government to empower and mobilise Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state.
Abiodun made this known in his office after he was recognised as the first Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) grand patron recently in Abeokuta, the state capital.
This is contained in a statement issued by OGUNCCIMA’s President, Wasiu Olaleye, and made available to The Trumpet in Lagos.
The statement said the governor said his administration would be restrategising with the Bank of Industry for businesses operating in the state, particularly in agriculture and allied sectors.
“We have resolved to empower and mobilise the MSMEs sector in the state. We are reinvigorating the Ogun State Government and Bank of Industry fund by restrategising with the bank for the benefit of businesses operating in agro-allied sectors,” he noted.
The governor added that his administration would continue to do more to improve the agro-allied sector of the state.
He urged the OGUNCCIMA and other stakeholders to collaborate with his administration in its quest to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to the state.
The governor also noted that his administration would continue to embark on the construction of roads that connect the state, adding that the ongoing agro cargo airport and the Agbara-Atan-Lusada road will be completed before the end of the year.
“We will continue to construct roads that connect us to neighbouring states, just as we have done with the Ijebu Ode- Abeokuta-Siun interchange road and the Agbara-Atan-Lusada road, which will be completed by September of this year.

“I assure all of us that our international Agro Cargo Airport will be ready on or before September 2022.”
Responding, the President of OGUNCCIMA, Olaleye commended the governor for improving the state’s business environment in the past three years.
He said the governor has improved the state’s economic status, charging him to continue his good work in the remaining year of his first tenure.
He noted that the conferment of the grand patron of OGUNCCIMA, the first of its kind to be conferred on any governor in the state, was in fulfilment of the obligation of his chamber’s appreciation to the governor for his feat in the past three years.
