The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), and other top All Progressive Congress (APC) leaders in Delta state has declared Governor Sheriff Oborevwori the undisputed leader of the party in the State.

Keyamu made the declaration on Sunday during a high-profile visit of APC leaders to Governor Oborevwori in government house, Asaba ahead of his formal reception into the APC scheduled for Monday.

The delegation of APC leaders which went with the Aviation Minister included Senator Ned Nwoko (Delta North), Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas (Delta South), Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta Central), Hon. Francis Waive (Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency), and Miss Stella Okotete, Executive Director of NEXIM Bank.

The minister maintained that the gatekeepers of the party in the state, comprising the three sitting senators and the only House of Representatives member, were united in their support for Oborevvwori’s leadership.

“These are the gatekeepers of the APC in Delta State — three senators and our only member of the House of Representatives. Outside this group, there is no APC in Delta,” Keyamo declared. “We are here to wholeheartedly, 100 percent, welcome you to the APC. Unconditionally!”

Keyamo noted that the political realignment was not only a blessing to Delta State but also to the ruling party at the center and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ensuring a stronger synergy between the state and the federal government.

He further pledged total loyalty to Oborevwori, saying, “As our leader — undisputed leader — we wholeheartedly surrender to your leadership and ask for direction at all times. When you say we go, we go. When you say we stay, we stay. That is the state of the APC in Delta today.”

The meeting also saw a collective adoption of the Governor’s “MORE Agenda,” with Keyamo describing it as now the official roadmap of the Delta APC. “The MORE Agenda is now our agenda,” he said, recounting his personal admiration for the Governor’s achievements, including massive infrastructural developments.

“This is time for confession,” Keyamo said humorously. “I touched my brother [Senator Ned Nwoko] when I saw the flyover from the airport to JP [Julius Berger], and I said it’s truly a great thing of joy.”

Keyamo emphasized that with Governor Oborevwori now at the helm of the APC in Delta, the 2027 elections were no longer a contest but “a mere rollover,” as preparations were already underway for 2031.

However, notably absent from the meeting was former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

The formal reception of Governor Oborevwori into the APC is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, in Asaba, in what is expected to be a landmark event in Delta’s political history.
