Prominent Delta young politician, journalist, and organizer of the Isoko Nation Unity Table Tennis Tournament, Dr. Palmer Ogheneyole Nathaniel, popularly referred to as “Son of the Governor’ narrowly escaped death in a ghastly motor accident that occurred on Friday, 17th October 2025, along the Isoko end of the Ughelli–Asaba Expressway.
Dr. Palmer, a close aide and confidant of the Governor, was said to be driving alone in his Toyota Camry when the unfortunate incident happened while returning to Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area from his hometown, Emevor.
According to eyewitness accounts, the accident occurred when one of the back tyres on the passenger’s side suddenly came off, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and crash into a barricade.
“He was driving at a moderate speed when suddenly the back tyre on the passenger’s side flung out and he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the the demarcation. It was a terrifying moment, but we thank God he came out alive.”

Dr. Palmer was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment before being transferred the following morning to Asaba on the instruction of the Governor. He is currently receiving further medical care at the Asaba Specialist Hospital.
Speaking in a telephone chat with this medium, one of Dr. Palmer’s closest friends, Comr. Justice Ogwah, confirmed that he is responding positively to treatment.
“We are grateful to God that our brother and leader, Dr. Palmer, survived that terrible crash. He’s responding to treatment and will be back on his feet sooner than anyone expected. We also thank everyone whose prayers, concern, and prompt support made a difference in saving his life.” Ogwah said
Palmer also known as ‘The Black Prince of Isoko Nation’, is a prolific writer, newspaper editor and businessman. He played a pivotal role in the election of the current Governor, Rt.Hon Elder Sheriff F.O Oborevwori by founding the first support group, The Sheriffication Movement (TSM) and created the Governor’s campaign slogan of ‘Sheriffed’. He is presently the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media and Strategy and a very loyal lietanant of the Oborevwori’s administration.
