Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has tasked the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to focus on reclaiming opposition party members to solidify the party’s dominance and unity ahead of future elections.
Speaking on Sunday during a thanksgiving service for the newly appointed Delta South PDP Chairman, Chief Emman Amgbaduba, at Living Faith Church, Udu, Governor Oborevwori—represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA—emphasized the benefits of a politically unified Delta State.
“We all know that Delta is PDP, and PDP is Delta,” Oborevwori declared. “Let us work together to bring the few individuals in opposition parties back under the umbrella. United as one, we stand stronger and can achieve more for Deltans.”
Using the analogy of a broom, he added:
“A single broom can easily be broken, but a bunch of brooms is unbreakable. Let us remain united as Deltans and as loyal members of the PDP. Together, we can deliver better governance and development for our people.”
The governor also highlighted his administration’s achievements under the MORE Agenda (More Opportunities, Resources, and Empowerment), citing significant infrastructure development.

“We’ve made progress with the construction of roads and bridges across the state. Delta remains a praying state, and with God’s guidance, we are witnessing MORE employment, MORE development, and a MORE peaceful environment.”
Oborevwori commended Chief Amgbaduba for seeking divine guidance in his leadership role and encouraged PDP members to stay united and supportive of the government’s initiatives.
The thanksgiving service also featured a sermon by Pastor Kolawole Oniwinde, who emphasized the importance of joy, faith, and divine presence in achieving success.
“Joy secures health, vitality, and access to God’s protection,” Oniwinde said. “Remain hopeful and faithful in God’s promises.”
The event marked a rallying call for PDP leaders and members to consolidate their efforts in ensuring the party remains the leading political force in Delta State.
