Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, will on Monday, January 19, 2026, flag off the construction of the N59.7 billion Uromi Junction Flyover in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, marking another major step in the state’s ongoing urban infrastructure drive.

The project, located along the busy Lagos–Asaba Expressway at Uromi Junction, is designed to ease traffic congestion and improve road safety in one of Delta State’s key commercial corridors. It forms part of the Oborevwori administration’s sustained effort to expand and modernise critical transport infrastructure across the state.

In a statement, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, said the groundbreaking ceremony would begin at 11.00 a.m., urging invited guests to be seated by 10.00 a.m.

Even ahead of the official flag off, construction activities have already commenced at the project site. The contracting firm, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, has mobilised to the location and started preliminary works, signalling the administration’s commitment to timely delivery of the landmark project.

The Uromi Junction Flyover is coming barely a week after the governor performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the N39.3 billion Otovwodo Junction flyover project in Ughelli, further underscoring the pace of infrastructure development under the current administration.

With the addition of the Agbor flyover, the number of flyover projects being executed by the Oborevwori administration has risen to five.

The flyover projects are central to the state government’s broader infrastructure renewal agenda, aimed at decongesting major urban roads, enhancing safety for motorists and pedestrians, and boosting economic activities across strategic cities and towns in Delta State.
