A devastating petrol tanker explosion in Agbor, headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, has left four persons dead, banks and properties destroyed.
The affected banks include First Bank and Access Bank branches, while four houses and an Anglican Church were equally razed by the inferno.
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, along the Old Asaba-Lagos Road, leaving the community in shock.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Bright Edafe, while confirming the incident said, the tanker, laden with petrol, fell and burst into flames while attempting a turn near the banks.
The resulting inferno burned four victims to death and left several others injured. Two vehicles were also consumed by the fire, which spread rapidly across the area.

Reacting to the incident, Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and properties.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described the incident as horrific and extended his condolences to the grieving families.
He prayed for the quick recovery of the injured and assured residents that the government would provide immediate assistance to those affected.
The governor also directed the state Ministry of Health and the State Emergency Management Agency to provide relief materials and medical care to victims.
He commended the Delta State Fire Service, security agencies, and local residents for their swift response in containing the blaze and rescuing victims.
