Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is expected to grace the 2025 edition of the Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ) Delta State Council Press week , as Special Guest of Honour.
The epochal event which aims at deepening dialogue , driving socio-economic development , and celebrating the enduring influence of the media in shaping a better society will climax , after a week long activity, with a grand opening ceremony , lecture and awards at the Orchid Hotels, Asaba.
According to a statement issued on behalf of the 2025 Press Week Committee, by Comrades Pere Botu and Barth Ozah, the Chairman and Secretary respectively, the keynote lecture “Tax Regimes and Exchange Rate Unification: Economic Implications and the Media,s Strategic Role”, will be delivered by the Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas.
The statement further adds that the Executive Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Services ( DSIRS), Hon Solomon Ighrakpata, and Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Delta State, Ekeme Ohwovoriole, SAN, will be on the panel of discussants.

The Commissioner for Works ( Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, is the guest of honour, while the National President of the NUJ, Comrade Alhassan Yahya and Delta State Council Chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, are the Chief host and host, respectively.
Activities for the Press week, scheduled to hold from Sunday November 16, 2025, to Sunday November 23, 2025, include thanksgiving service, visits to media houses, sensitization walk, medical and social outreaches, a novelty football match and of course, the grand opening ceremony, lecture and awards.
The 2025 NUJ Delta Press Week Committee emphasized that the week-long event is also aimed at celebrating the enduring influence of the media , in shaping a better society.
