The Concerned Rivers People (CRP), a pressure group, has asked Governor Siminalaiyi Fubara of Rivers State to obey the Supreme Court judgement, rather than trying to whip up sentiments.
CRP Public Relations Officer, Alex Nwogu, who said this in a statement, observed that the many comments of Gov. Fubara, in trying to generate sympathy, and whip up sentiments after the apex court’s judgement, didn’t come as a surprise to the group.
Alluding to Gov. Fubara’s statement that he is unfazed, and unscarred about the judgement, Nwogu asserted that the governor can make such a declaration because he has taken Rivers people on a journey ride to nowhere.
“He has nothing to lose because he has looted more than enough. Spent more than two and half years expenditure of Wike in 2024, proposed three years expenditure in 2025. All with nothing to show.
“He has also categorically stated in his statewide broadcast that he has directed his self- appointed local government chairmen to handover to heads of local government administration in the 23 councils of the state
“If we may ask, where’s Fubara drawing his legal powers from? Is it the same 1999 constitution, as amended, as his directive directly contravenes all known norms of local administration in Nigeria.

“We do not need to educate him on what to do, since he has equally promised to obey court verdicts; though in his half wisdom he is in disagreement with the apex court,” the statement said.
Accusing Gov. Fubara of self -delusion as to the reality of the Supreme Court judgement, Nwogu added that the governor has allowed himself to be deluded, and has continued to progress in error.
“CRP wants to quickly remind Rivers people also that a self- inflicted wound is very difficult to heal. The Rivers State House of Assembly has spoken, and given clear cut directive on Fubara’s next line of action.
“So, we are fervently believing in Fubara’s new penance to obey, and do the needful so that Rivers people do not wallow in hunger due to your deliberate errors in turning the principle of governance upside down in our beloved Rivers State.
“Also, as a quick reminder, we have heard your dirge Fubara, but cannot mourn with you,” the CRP said.
