The National Youth Service Corps has released call-up letters for prospective corps members in the 2026 Batch A Stream 1, confirming deployment arrangements that will see some participants attend orientation camps outside the states to which they were posted.
In a statement shared on its official X platform on Monday, the NYSC announced that call-up letters are now available for printing on its portal. The scheme explained that corps members posted to Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory will, in some cases, undergo their three-week orientation exercise in neighbouring states.
According to the NYSC, prospective corps members assigned to Lagos may be directed to orientation camps in Ekiti, Kwara, Ondo, Ogun and Osun states, while those posted to the FCT could be camped in Kaduna, Niger or Nasarawa states. The arrangement, the scheme noted, was necessitated by limited accommodation capacity at certain orientation camps across the country.

The NYSC recalled that it had earlier disclosed that only about 40 percent of registered prospective corps members could be accommodated during the upcoming orientation exercise, making the redistribution of participants unavoidable.
Corps members were also advised to avoid night travel when proceeding to their respective orientation camps, citing safety concerns. The scheme further stressed the importance of completing all documentation before arrival, warning that registration forms must be printed, duly signed and presented at camp.
In a separate advisory, the NYSC cautioned that prospective corps members with discrepancies in their records would not be registered. It stated that anyone whose graduation date on the call-up letter differs from the date on their statement of results would be turned back. Affected individuals were urged to resolve such issues through their institutions’ Student Affairs Officers before reporting.
The scheme also issued fresh guidance for married female prospective corps members. Those posted outside their husbands’ states of residence were directed to report to the nearest orientation camp for registration. Married women seeking concessional posting are required to upload their marriage certificate, their husband’s identity card and a letter confirming their husband’s place of residence as part of the process.
