The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has lauded the Commander of 23 Brigade, Brigadier General Paul Zawaya, for his outstanding leadership in enhancing security in Adamawa State.
In a statement made available to media practitioners in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations of the Brigade, Lt. Adebayo Samuel Adewumi, the DG made the commendation, during a courtesy visit to the Brigade Headquarters in Jimeta-Yola.
He expressed gratitude for the military’s continued support of the NYSC scheme in the state, praising Brigadier General Zawaya’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability, and as well describing him as “a model of exemplary leadership”.
The visit, he noted, aligns with his nationwide tour of NYSC camps and reinforces collaboration between the scheme and the military.

In response, Brigadier General Zawaya commended the NYSC for its role in fostering national unity and social cohesion.
He encouraged Brigadier General Ahmed to sustain the scheme’s achievements under his leadership.
Similarly, the Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN), Most Reverend Musa Panti Filibus, also visited the Brigade Headquarters, where he acknowledged the troops’ dedication to safeguarding lives and property in Adamawa and beyond.
He expressed appreciation for the military’s support of faith-based institutions, highlighting the strong ties between the Church and the armed forces.
