The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has elevated three referees from grade three to grade two in recognition of their significant contributions to the development of volleyball in the country.
Additionally, the NVBF celebrated other referees and players whose birthdays coincide with Nigeria’s Independence day.
These promotions and birthday acknowledgments, took place on the 10th day of the ongoing 2025 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League for both men and women at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The referees who received promotions are Akintunde Oluyemi, Adedamola Adebimpe, and Gabriel Ilouloh, all moving up from grade three to grade two.
After a photo session, the newly promoted referees were awarded their certificates during a brief intermission dedicated to the promotion and birthday celebrations.
Among the five members of the NVBF family celebrating birthdays was customs female player, Nworie Bethel Ogochukwu, along with NVBF referee, Olarewaju Abdulrasaq, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the other celebrants for the NVBF’s recognition of their special day.
