The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has disbanded its board of administration to allow for the election of new board members.
The board, which was established in 2021, was dissolved during the NVBF’s elective congress held at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on September 22, 2025.
This decision comes amid the ongoing Controller General of Customs Cup for the first phase of the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League for both men and women.
National Chairman of the NVBF, Musa Nimrod, expressed gratitude to the outgoing board members for their four years of commitment, which significantly benefited the national volleyball community at both national and international levels.
He encouraged them to support the new board executives who will be elected later today.

The NVBF board of administration serves as the governing body of the federation, tasked with promoting and implementing strategies for the growth of volleyball in Nigeria.
This includes organizing leagues and championships, fostering grassroots development, and enhancing player skills and international recognition.
Additionally, the board is involved in securing sponsorships, collaborating with government agencies, and advocating for the sport’s advancement at both national and international levels.
The board is responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing the federation’s activities.
The board’s most significant role is to collaborate with various government entities, security services, private clubs, and sponsors to achieve its objectives, with a particular emphasis on grassroots development to nurture future talent.
