A 30 year-old man, who is a sweeper and resident of Tilak Nagar area in Delhi, the Indian Capital, has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping an 87 year-old paralysed woman.
Reports say that the old woman was at home when the suspect, who is a neighbour – attacked her and also robbed her – while police confirmed that the family reported the case as theft and alleged rape the following day.
The family, however, alleged the police to have discouraged them not to pursue the case, claiming that doing that would be stressful for them, but the family, however, criticized the police.
