The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, (NULGE), Rivers State chapter has directed its members in the 23 local government areas of the state to proceed on a 7-day warning strike beginning midnight of September 30.
A statement signed by the state Secretary of the union, Comrade Sunday Adeniran on Monday said the action has become necessary in view of the “callous and unfair” action of the chairman of Emohua Local Government Area in denying NULGE members in the council of their salaries.

Our correspondent recalls that the Emohua Local Government Area Chairman, Chidi Lloyd also had running battle with workers in the council during his first tenure over issues related to salary.
