Dayo Akindoju, President of Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), has commended the sponsors of the 2022 Davnotch National Open Championship for creating the avenue where emerging talents will be harvested and nurtured into future stars The Trumpet gathered.

Akindoju, in a statement, disclosed that the tennis tournament which is not discriminatory on gender equality will be held at Package B of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

NTF president, who spoke ahead of the tournament scheduled from Thursday, May 5 to May 14, 2022, assured that the NTF will ensure that tournament is organised to meet international standards.

Akindoju stressed that all the requirements needed to ensure that the tournament achieves a successful outing have been put in place.

“I can assure you that this year’s edition will witness the best of technical and tactical exhibitions, thereby showcasing the improving standard of tennis in Nigeria,” he told News Agency of Nigeria.

“We have put in place all necessary arrangements to ensure the players, officials, and even spectators have a great competition,” the Tennis boss added.

Nevertheless, Akindoju after applauding the gesture of the sponsors of the championship with an underlining fact to aid grassroots development called on more sponsors to contribute to the advancement of tennis sport.
