The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has vowed to enforce the supervision private security guard firms in Anambra State.
NSCDC state Commandant, Maku Olatunde, stated this when he played host to the state chapter of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) in Awka.
Olatunde emphasised the need for private security firms to operate professionally, updating their records and building cordial relations with the NSCDC and other conventional security agencies.
He promised to enhance the activities of private security firms in Anambra State to conform to the laid-down procedures guiding the operations of private security firms in the country.
The NSCDC boss urged the association to work closely with the corps to eliminate and flush out quacks and unlicensed security operators in the state.

He encouraged the association to gather and share credible intelligence within their areas of responsibility with the corps.
Chairman of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria, Anambra State chapter, Dr. Okon Antai, reaffirmed his organisation’s commitment to collaborating with the NSCDC to stamp out unlicensed security operators and enforce regulatory standards in the state.
According to him, the partnership will enhance the state’s security landscape by exclusively allowing licensed professionals to operate, protect members of the public, and foster a safer environment for end-users/ clients through effective regulation and enforcement against illegitimate security providers.
