The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anambra State Command and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) have forged a strategic partnership to crack down on the spread of substandard products across the state.
The collaboration was solidified on Thursday, March 27, 2025, during a high-level meeting at the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Awka. The SON delegation, led by Engr. Emmanuel Hussaini, the State Coordinator 1, and Engr. Unuja Ndukwe, Head of Inspectorate and Compliance Directorate for the South-South and South-East regions, paid a familiarization visit to NSCDC State Commandant Maku Olatunde.
Commending SON’s relentless efforts in enforcing quality standards, Commandant Olatunde underscored the devastating impact of fake and substandard products on the economy and public health. He stressed that the NSCDC remains committed to supporting SON’s regulatory mission, highlighting the crucial role of synergy in eliminating counterfeit goods from Anambra markets.

Engr. Hussaini, the SON Anambra coordinator, also praised the growing cooperation between SON and the NSCDC, noting that aggressive enforcement campaigns and sweeping operations were key to dismantling networks of substandard product distribution.
The renewed partnership signals a major crackdown on counterfeit products in Anambra, as both agencies intensify efforts to protect consumers and uphold quality standards.
