The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reported the death of four officers who were attacked by bandits in the Farin-Kasa Area of Chukun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
In a statement issued on Friday, the NSCDC spokesperson, Babatunde Afolabi, stated that the four officers were among the seven policemen who were declared missing during an ambush on November 18.
The security agents were attacked while monitoring national grid installations in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
“As of today, out of the seven missing officers, four dead bodies had been recovered, two men returned back to base unhurt, while one personnel is still missing in action,” Afolabi said.
The statement further stated that the NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, expressed his sympathy with all officers and men of the corps in the light of the tragic incident.
Audi assured that the group personal accident/group life insurance will be facilitated to cushion the effects of the unfortunate incident on the families of the killed men.

Visiting injured officers at the corps’ medical facility on Thursday evening, the NSCDC commandant general praised the courage of his officers.
“He praised the operators’ valour, bravery, and courage during the ambush, and promised that the corps will cover all of their medical and welfare expenditures.
“He also condemned the bloody terrorist attack and described it as a brutal and devastating act of violence, which must not be allowed to fester considering the number of security operatives that have fallen,” the commandant general stated.
Audi urged officers of the corps across the country not to be discouraged by the latest incident. He advised them to pray for God’s protection, to remain vigilant, and to follow all safety protocols in their fight against insecurity in Nigeria.
