The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has arrested 11 suspected hoodlums allegedly responsible for series of violent attacks in the Mariri area of Kumbotso Local Government Area.
The suspects were apprehended around 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, after reportedly going on a rampage following a local traditional festival.
A statement issued by the Corps Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Idris, said the gang armed themselves with dangerous weapons and attacked residents, dispossessing them of valuables.
He noted that the hoodlums were also said to have stormed a nearby NSCDC outpost in Mariri, where they assaulted an officer, leaving him with a fracture.
Those arrested include Idris Muhd, Abubakar Shuaibu, Sagiru Hassan Yusuf, Idris Morata, and Anas Rabiu.
Others are Yahaya Muhd Yahaya, Khalid Idris, Mohd Adamu, Muktar Auwal Muktar, Salim Muktar, and Saifullahi Nuhu.

He explained that items recovered from the suspects include six cutlasses and swords, as well as a pair of scissors believed to have been used during the attacks.
Idris said the Intelligence and Investigation department of the command had concluded preliminary investigations and that the suspects would be charged in court.
The spokesperson added that the state Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to tackling criminal gangs, safeguarding public peace, and protecting critical national assets and infrastructure under its mandate.
