The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command has arrested two suspected criminals, identified as Muhammad Sarari and Madaki Zaharaddeen, for impersonation, and extortion.
While briefing newsmen on Monday in Kano, spokesperson of the command, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the duo were arrested by personnel of the division in Tarauni and brought to the state headquarters for interrogation.
According to him, the suspects visit ministries and government agencies, intimidating top officials to extort money.

“Their luck ran out when they attempted to intimidate a top management staff of a renowned television station in the state, demanding cash in exchange for their services,” the spokesman disclosed.
He however, said upon investigation, the suspects confessed to the crimez and will be charged to court for impersonation, conspiracy, intimidation, and extortion.
Meanwhile, Abdullahi noted that a fake identity card, and an inner wear bearing the NSCDC logo were recovered from the suspects.
