The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the GS Foundation, has commenced an Advanced Facilitators Training Program aimed at enhancing the instructional and leadership capabilities of police officers. The training, held at the National Institute of Police Studies (NIPS) in Abuja, is scheduled in two sessions: February 10th to 15th and February 17th to 22nd, 2025.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, was represented at the opening session by Commissioner of Police, Department of Training and Development, CP Rashad B. Afegbua, psc, mnips. The program builds upon the Basic Facilitators Program, with participants carefully selected based on their outstanding performance in the initial phase. The objective of this advanced training is to further equip officers with high-level facilitation skills, enabling them to train other officers and foster a sustainable capacity-building framework within the Force.

The NPF expressed profound appreciation to the UNDP and GS Foundation for their invaluable support in sponsoring the program. The collaboration highlights the importance of international partnerships in strengthening security institutions and advancing law enforcement practices.

Egbetokun said the Force remains dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous learning, recognizing that well-trained personnel are critical to achieving sustainable policing reforms. This initiative aligns with the broader vision of enhancing the capabilities of the Nigeria Police Force to meet contemporary security challenges and uphold the rule of law.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, reaffirmed the NPF’s resolve to implement strategic training programs that drive professionalism and excellence in the Force.
