Prominent Christian leaders from across the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have commended Governor Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe State for his commitment to inclusivity, peace, and development in the state.
The Christian leaders, led by Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam, gave the commendation during a dinner hosted by Gov. Yahaya at the Government House in Gombe.
The delegation, which included members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), was in the state to felicitate the Muslim community on the occasion of the Eid El-Fitr festival.
Rev. Pam praised the governor for his dedication to fostering social unity, economic growth, and infrastructural advancements.
He highlighted key projects such as the 40-megawatt hydro-electric power initiative at Dadinkowa Dam and the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, describing them as transformative efforts with vast economic and investment potentials.
The cleric also lauded Gov. Yahaya’s administration in maintaining peace and security in Gombe State, positioning the state as a model of stability in the north.

“As chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, Gov. Yahaya has been instrumental in driving regional cooperation and addressing security challenges,” Rev. Pam noted.
Gov. Yahaya reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering unity and inclusivity in the state, while describing Gombe as a “mini -Nigeria,” where people of different ethnic and religious backgrounds coexist peacefully.
This harmony, he stressed, is the result of deliberate government policies and the unwavering support of the people.
Addressing security concerns in the north, the governor attributed much of the unrest to the unchecked pursuit of material wealth.
He emphasized the importance of legitimate livelihoods, stating that economic empowerment initiatives, such as the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, would create opportunities and reduce crime.
Gov. Yahaya also acknowledged the increasing competition for limited resources, particularly between farmers and herders, which has been exacerbated by rapid population growth.
He explained that industrialization efforts aim to provide long-term solutions by attracting investors and boosting regional economic prospects.
