The Nigeria National League (NNL), the second-tier division of the federation’s football leagues, will commence actions on Saturday, August 6, 2022, to conclude the remaining fixtures of the season.
These actions are scheduled in a four-week time frame for clubs in group B2 while other groups have a two weeks time frame.
In a ‘circular 212’, dated August 3, 2022, and signed by the Chief Operating Officer, Emmanuel Adesanya, the NNL clubs by the notice are expected to kick start preparations.
While the NNL organisers want fairness and a hitch-free event, they admonish the State Football Associations to ensure they uphold the integrity of the league.
The circular read: “We convey to you the warm regards of the Chairman, Management and Staff of the Nigeria National League.
“We write to humbly inform you that Nigeria National League matches for the remaining 4 weeks in Group B2 and 2 weeks in other groups have been scheduled to commence on Saturday 6° August, 2022 at the various
designated centers.

“All Nigeria National League Clubs are by this circular requested to commence preparations to honor their league fixtures accordingly.
“The hosts State Football Associations concerned are also requested to ensure that the integrity of NNI. League matches are not compromised.
“We regret the inconveniences our delay in resuming our league matches may have caused all clubs and stakeholders alike.
“While thanking you for your understanding, please accept our warmest sporting regards,” the circular concluded.
Meanwhile, El Kanemi in group A1 presently top the table with 31 points, a point above Sokoto FC and City FC Abuja in second and third positions with 30 points.
In group A2, Doma United head the log with 36 points, 8 points above Jigawa Golden Stars, DMD FC and Malumfashi on 28 points to sit at the second, third and fourth places.
Also, Bendel Insurance have been in top form to dominate group B1 with 46 points edging out Gateway United from the top spot with a 10-point lead while in group B2, Bayelsa United though have the same 36 points as
Crown FC, top the log with Warri Wolves trailing on 34 points.
