The frustration of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, boiled over on Monday, after the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday, suspended his trial indefinitely.
Speaking after the court proceedings in a video widely circulated on X, Kanu expressed his frustrations after the adjournment, by accusing the judicial system of corruption and bias against him.
In the video, Kanu made reference to a Supreme Court ruling that he believes supports his claims.
He highlighted the perceived disobedience of the court in relation to this ruling, questioning the legitimacy of his ongoing trial, given a prior court order stating that there was no case against him.

“They sent her to my case, so they can smoothen the pathway for them, they are very corrupt.
“There is a breach of judicial oath, they are biased against me; according to the Supreme Court that is why they have been ruling against me
“They are even disobedient to the Supreme Court because the court fired them. But Nigeria went to Kenya to kidnap me, so why are they insisting on trying me
“A court order was rendered that there is no trial. So why are they insisting; there is no case against me” he said in the now viral video on X (formally Twitter).
Earlier, the Federal High Court, Abuja, had adjourned indefinitely the trial of Nnamdi Kanu.
This decision was announced by Justice Binta Nyako, following arguments from Kanu and his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, who contended that the judge no longer had the authority to oversee the case due to her previous recusal.
The situation was further complicated by Justice Nyako’s recusal on September 24, 2024, which was prompted by a request from the defense.
Nonetheless, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho returned the case to Justice Nyako, indicating that a formal application was necessary for the recusal to take effect.
